I'm trying to cut down on the amount of television I'm watching, it's an end of year resolution of sorts, watching tv seems like such a waste of time to me now. I don't want to look back on my 20s and say, I watched loads of great telly. That's just silly. SO here's to a book a month.
Freakonomics was so so good, it was like nothing I've ever read before. I'm always hearing a lot about it, so I bought it on a whim. It's really lived up to expectations, I just wish it was a little longer. It's actually the first book I've read for pleasure in a while, a nice break from accounting journal articles, but I'm glad that I branched out with this one. The writers answer questions using economics in a really unique way, for example " Why do drug dealers still live with their moms? ". I'd definitely recommend it, it really got me thinking about the world around me.
